Dayton Lakes is a very small community in the central Part of Liberty County. It began as just a recreational area for weekend getaways. It ran along seven small lakes on the west side of the Trinity River, those lakes were a part of the river. Development began in the 1960's for the community and in 1985 the town became incorporated.
