Montgomery County to Tweet Names of those Arrested of DWI

by Tyler Flood on December 19, 2009

MyFoxHouston reported last night that the Montgomery County District Attorney plans to start Tweeting the names and arrest details of those suspected of DWI.

I was quoted in this report – Tyler Flood is one of Houston’s top DWI defense attorneys and thinks only the names of those convicted should be posted.

“Here is another form of punishment, if you are arrested for DWI, the problem is it’s a punishment. That is something that comes after a conviction, not before,” said Flood.

What do you think? Is it fair to start tarnishing accused individuals reputations online before they’ve actually been convicted of the crime?
