While everyone in Houston was getting dressed up to head out for a night on the town. Tyler Flood was preparing to head over to Central Intox at HPD to view the blood draw procedures of the Houston Police Department.
Earlier in the week, Tyler Flood showed up in court with a motion to allow him to photograph and inspect the blood vial storage area along with Central Intox. The judge signed the order and Tyler Flood started planning his trip. Tyler Flood contacted an officer at the Houston Police Department who agreed to meet him at 10 p.m. on Saturday night, October 31st…Halloween night. As Tyler Flood prepared to head up to the Houston Police Department, he received a phone call. Not exactly the phone call that he wanted though…it was the same officer Tyler Flood spoke to earlier in the week but this time he was told that he was not going to be permitted to enter the facility.
Outraged, Tyler headed to his office to prepare an affidavit. He arrived at the Houston Police Department as scheduled with his court order in hand. Officers again refused to allow him access. Tyler Flood asked the officer to sign the affidavit stating that the Houston Police Department was denying him access even though he had his court order in hand. As you might have guessed, the officer refused to sign. Figuring that he wasn’t going to get anywhere, he headed home. Frustrated but ready to give up. Monday morning he was standing in front of the judge once again asking for another signed order, which he got.
